| Carrying wheels of cheese. The men wear
a kind of "sled" over their shoulders to upload the huge wheels of cheese
and carry them to be weighed. Then the cheese wheels are uploaded again
and taken across to the vehicles of the buyers.
Those sleds are very strong - have to be, because those cheese wheels are not lightweights! At one stage a few of the teams called some young children over, had them sit on the sleds and ran around the mountain of cheese with them. (Postcard: Unfortunately no info about the photographer) |
