Avebury : A city inside a stone circle. The standing stones of Avebury form by far the largest of Britian's stone circles. It is also the only circle with a town built inside it. To us, it was even more magical than Stonehenge. The mound that can be seen at the top of the picture is the West Kennet Burial mound. (Postcard)
