We first had breakfast at McDonald's which is always fun in itself. Chris never had the McMuffin or a hash brown and he was pleasantly surprised. Also the "bottomless" cup of coffee or pop (cold drink / soft drink in Canadianspeak) is something that we in SA (and those in the UK) don't know the pleasure of.
Then we went on to Marineland. We arrived there as soon as they opened, then planned our day. First up was the dolphin and seal / sea lion show. What fun! Got much of that on tape.

Then we went on to ride one of the LONGEST steel roller coaster in the world. It goes through 2 tunnels and 4 loops.

On this picture you can see the two loops against the sky, and the "pretzel" just behind the menfolk. The car enters the pretzel coming out of a tunnel and twists you almost totally around - a surprising feeling! Arno is on the left, then Jaco and Theo, and Chris on the right.
The ride takes 4 minutes and children have to be a minimum height. You have a wonderful view over the park and Niagara itself. Theo made minimum height with a whisker. We went through and Arno held the video camera. Afterwards we fed the herd of deer and I took some video of the herd of 100 bison lazing in the sun.

This deer really loved the biscuits fed to him! He kept on pushing his head out of the fence to get to the boys' hands.
Jaco and Theo wanted to go on the roller coaster again. Actually, we all wanted to go again - and so we did. Entrance fee to the park covers all rides, as many times as you like. This time Chris held the video camera. (After watching the tape, we decided to cut out the second taping of the roller coaster. I tried a different setting (fast speed instead of just leaving it on auto) and that picked up too much vibration.)
Oh and I forgot - we also fed the bears. They are so spoilt!

They have a big, grassy area where they can browse and play, with the moat around to keep visitors out, I guess. As soon as these three saw they were being fed, they sat themselves in the water near the bridge where we were and just opened their mouths to catch whatever was falling down.
There are stalls all around the park, selling you the proper food for the animals nearby. The bears were fed miniature marshmallows - I think Theo ate half the bears' portion himself!
But they are lovely and I'm sure it will be the closest we'll ever come
to black bears. And did you know, their colour varies from pitch black
to brown to a sort of ash grey or beige white? Interesting, isn't it?
