A world full of friends and wonderful sights

      Niagara Falls
      page 4

From the Spanish Car it was on the People Mover again to the Floral clock - biggest working clock in the world, arms weighing something like 1000 kg together. It was beautiful - this year the face is purple, with white and yellow.

More than 15 000 plants were used to create that face!

Back on the People Mover - now it was around 8.30 pm and the boys were dead tired. We were also hungry. We decided we might as well stay for the lights on the falls, starting at 9pm. Back at the Horsehoe falls, we couldn't believe how much the scene has changed from two hours or so before. The rainbow was a lot higher, but just as complete.

More or less minutes after I took this picture of the rainbow, it changed once more, showing only half the rainbow.

Some 24 of the strongest lights in the world are used to create the colours on the water. We only had to wait about 20 minutes or so for the lights to start.

What a show!!!! What a glorious show of power and beauty and atmosphere!

The only bad part of the day was then to get on a bus, filled to overflowing, to get back to the car. It was terrible. Really. I was so worried about the boys getting squashed, because people just pushed in. I kept telling them just to stay upright, not to fall, and if they do, to grab on to the nearest person to keep themselves upright. It was that bad.

And the traffic was horrendous. We were stuck in it for about 40 minutes. But we finally made it back to the car, where the boys fell asleep on my lap instantly. The traffic coming out of Niagara was also quite bad. We left just after 10pm from Niagara, and we were here just after 11.30. The boys woke up enough to walk to the elevator and into the apartment themselves. But they were really tired. I just wiped their feet and they went to sleep without a peep.

Oh yes, and the kitten was alone the whole day. She was so happy to see us! Purring like a motor.

Hope you enjoyed this rambling account ....
