| Several sizes of elephants. After gestation
of 22 months, an elephant calf is born. They stay with the herd for more
than a decade, growing much like humans in years. These two babies on the left were
only a few months old. Behind them is another "toddler", about two or three
years old. The other elephants are a little older, but still too young
not to need the protection of the herd.
