Here is a comment I received 4/6/99, as I said I would post all, good or bad, I only thing is I cannot tell which it is, From Ed Anderson.
Please don't post to the old alt.suupport.psoriasis group. It encourages others to post there. The group is not carried on many servers. There is only one active psoriasis group, in the skin-diseases hierarchy. While I understand your frustration that messages expire quickly, that must be compensated by the fact that if they don't, there is an overwhelming accumulation of messages to wade through. Fortunately, there are archives for searching old messages. Usenet is popular because it works very well for public discussion. There are other formats that work well. Ed Dewke's Flake pages are an excellent way of exchanging ideas without all the junk that shows up on Usenet. A categorized forum is fine, but doing it by location isn't all that useful online. If you're looking to meet people in your area, why not start up a local support group? I've stopped by your site twice in the last couple of weeks, and still see no messages. Repeating your requests to te global group for vistors so often doesn't seem equitable. If your posts are OZ only, you might add a "Distribution: Australia" header. Another strategy might be to contact al previous poster from .au and invite them to your forum.

Also, you're more likely to get human interest for social contacts if you use a real name. Even if it's a pen name (Ed Dewke is a pseudonym) you'll be seen as more personable. As it is, it looks like a commercial ad. Just my thoughts, since you keep asking...

My page has not been up for a couple of weeks, may be 5 days tops, there was an index page to say that this was being constructed but that's all. If the pages had of been looked at recently as you claim then you would have seen the words "Outside Australia" on more than one page.
I mentioned the fact that comments or notices were only on the NG for a short time, I am well aware of the reason as to why they are there for a short time, my point was to highlight the fact that messages will stay on my site a lot longer there for people can refer back to it at any time, at no time did I criticise the NG for this or any other reason, at no time did I suggest that my site should be used instead of the NG.
I think people can make there own choice, about 200+ visits in the short time it has been up for a non commercial site that it not referred by other sites or adds, that's not to bad.
