The National Government, through the High Commissioner for Peace, and the FARC-EP, through its spokespersons at the negotiations table, reiterate for the national and international public their decision to continue working in the pursuit of negotiated political solution to the conflict which our country is experiencing and inform the public that we have agreed to effect the formal instalation of the table for the negotiation dialogues this coming Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the municipality of Uribe, department of Meta, for the purpose of developing the agreed upon common agenda, "Agenda Toward a New Colombia" which would make possible arrival at an agreement to acheive peace for the colombians. The purpose is also to get the National Thematic Committee, composed by both sides, functioning.
