CHICAGO: Demonstration in Solidarity with
the Colombian People
This event will take place in Chicago.
The CHICAGO COLOMBIA COMMITTEE invites all to participate
in a demonstration in solidarity with the Colombian people on the day of
the March for Peace.
When? Sunday, 24 October 1999 at 1:00 pm
Where? In front of the Colombian Consulate at 500 N. Michigan Avenue
in downtown Chicago
The CHICAGO COLOMBIA COMMITTEE calls on all armed groups
in Colombia to stop targeting civilians, to respect human rights and international
humanitarian law, and to arrive at a just and peaceful resolution to the
conflict.
The people of Chicago are extending their support and solidarity to
the people of Colombia, and march alongside them on their March for Peace.
NOTE: Individuals and organizations that will participate in
the Chicago demonstration should know that the demo coincides with the
Chicago Marathon and time allowances should be made to compensate for the
possible traffic disruptions.
